Rear Axle Shaft Removal & Installation

Drive axle, removing and installing

Removing

- Remove wheel cover.

- On vehicles with alloy wheels, pull cover from wheel with special tool 3208.

WARNING!  Do not loosen the bolt/washer assembly for the wheel hub unless the car is standing on its wheel --- risk of accident!

- Remove wheel
- Pull out wheel speed sensor slightly

- Disconnect brake caliper and secure to body with wire (arrow)

- Remove brake disc
- Remove transverse link from wheel bearing housing (arrow)
- Remove axle shaft from drive flange
