About the E81 1 Series
The E81 is the three-door hatchback of the first-generation 1 Series, made from 2004 to 2013, which replaced the 3 Series Compact. Unusually for a hatchback it has rear-wheel drive with a lengthwise engine and 50:50 weight balance.
