Replacing left inner B-pillar reinforcement
(side panel removed)
Read contents of Body, General.
For stripping and rigging operations, refer to texts on KSD
CD (FR number 41 21 920).
Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area
which are susceptible to heat or dust.
Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific
procedure.
Use only approved spot-welding apparatus for repairs!
Place vehicle on straightening bench.
Following new body parts are required (refer to Electronic Parts
Catalogue ETK):

(1) Reinforcement, B-pillar, inner
Open weld joints in area (1).
Open spot-weld bonded joints in area (2)
Remove B-pillar reinforcement.
Installation:
Apply window glass adhesive to cavity acoustic baffle in area (3).
Warning - fire hazard!
Apply window glass adhesive to cavity acoustic baffle in area (4)
only after welding new component.
Installation:
Adjust new part in conjunction with side panel to fit.
