Removing and installing engine (M40)
Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting
battery,
refer to general information in MG 12.
Disconnect negative battery lead.
Remove positive battery lead.
Move engine hood into assembly position; this operation is
described in Replacing windshield wiper arms.
Unscrew and remove splash guard.
Remove transmission.
Drain coolant from engine block.
Installation:
Replace seal.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 11 11 5AZ.
Remove radiator with fan cowl,
refer to 17 11 000.
Caution!
Left-hand threads.
Brace pulley with special tool 11 5 050 (bracket) and unfasten
cap nut from water pump with special tool 11 5 040.
