- Replace idle-speed control valve with modified idle-speed control valve
- Delete fault memory
- Start the engine three times
- Then check whether the complaint has been eliminated.

There is no need here to replace the Service EPROM or Service DME control unit.

2. 

Complaints a) - f), for USA and hot countries only:

- Replace idle-speed control valve with modified idle-speed control valve
- Depending on the variant of DME control unit installed (for identification, see
Enclosure 1), install the appropriate Service DME EPROM or Service DME control
unit,
- Delete fault memory
- Start the engine three times
- Then check whether the complaint has been eliminated.

3. 

Complaint g (DISA operating jolt):

If only the complaint "DISA operating jolt" occurs, install the appropriate Service DME
EPROM or Service DME control unit depending on the variant of DME control unit
installed (for identification, see Enclosure 1).

Parts: 

Enclosure 1 contains a list of EPROMs and DME control units; it can be used to determine
which EPROM/DME control unit is required for which vehicle.

Note:

The DME EPROMs are shipped together with a red seal in a packaging box specially
for electronic components.

If this red seal is lost or damaged, you must order at your own expense a new
EPROM that carries a seal. Only EPROMs purchased from BMW parts sales
department can be installed. 

Reimbursement: 

Material and labor costs incurred can be claimed through the usual warranty channels
subject to current warranty terms as follows:

Defect code

13 41 91 09 00
This defect code is not listed in the Defect Code
Catalogue, but is stored in the Warranty System
for reimbursement purposes.
