Tightening alternator drive belt (M40, M42)
Check drive-belt tension with Special Tool 11 5 020, retensioning
if necessary.
Traction hook must be positioned at centre of spline. Scale needle
of tester must be in green or yellow zone.
Tightening drive belt:
Loosen nut (1) and turn tensioner roller (3) by applying a torque of
approx. 7 Nm.
Tighten nut (1).
Check voltage once again with special tool 11 5 020, correcting
where applicable.
Special tool 11 5 020 (drive belt tension tester):
"With new measuring scale" for SR Vee belts.
SR = Service reduced.
