3 Series E36 318i (M44) SAL
Produce and A-pillar reinforcement plate with width (B) of approx.
60 mm and coat with zinc dust paint.
Insert reinforcement plates half their width into engine carrier and
plug weld.
Produce a side member reinforcement plate with width (B) of
approx. 60 mm and coat with zinc dust paint.
Slide in reinforcement plate 30 mm deep and plug weld.
Fit in, clamp and weld replacement part.
Weld over and plug weld the welded joint on the cowl panel and
side member.
Braze the cowl panel in zone (1).
Weld mating surfaces for hinges (1), car jack take-ups (2) and
door retaining strap (3) to body.
