Removing and installing or replacing vacuum
pump (M41)
Removing cylinder head cover,
refer to 11 12 000
Unfasten vacuum hose from vacuum pump.
Unscrew bolt (1).
Unfasten screw (2) and lift out pump.
Installation note:
Screw (2) also serves as bracket for chain guide.
The thread on the screw (2) is coated with sealing
compound. For this reason, use a new screw or apply a coat
of 3 Bond 1209 sealing agent,
refer to BMW Parts Service.
Installation note:
Install driver in recess on camshaft gear.
