Repair solution with new finisher strip (with handle recess) on
old soft top frames (without handle recess):

Removing and installing drive for convertible top lock
(electrical/fully-automatic),

refer to 54 34 200

Note:

Only pull off the headliner in the area of the 
retaining bracket (1) (do not pull out of the locks).

Installing the retaining bracket (1):

Center retaining bracket (1) on old finisher strip mounting (2) and
mark at bottom (3).

Secure with pliers (4) if necessary.

Mark the area of the retaining bracket (1) and cut out the retaining
tab (2) for the convertible cover.

Secure retaining bracket (1) with pliers (2).

Mark the holes (4) in the center of the flange (3), punch and drill
holes with a 5 mm dia.
