Replacing knock sensor (M50)
Interrogate fault memory of engine control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Remove complete manifold, refer to Gr. 11 00 050
Caution!
Mark plug-in connections of knock sensors on wiring harness!
Incorrect assembly of plug-in connections during assembly
can give rise to engine damage!
Plug-in connection is located below the idling speed control (idling
speed control not shown in this picture.)
Disconnect plug-in connections (1) and (2).
Release screw (1) and remove knock sensor for cylinders 1 to 3.
Note:
Knock sensor for cylinders 1 to 3 is located beneath
temperature sensors, near the ventilation spigot on the
alternator.
