3 Series E36 325i (M50) CONVER
Pull off vacuum hose (6).
Push idling speed control valve through retaining strap and
remove.
Disconnect hoses (2 and 3) to replace the valve.
Installation:
Note code number (9).
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check fault
messages stored in memory, remedy faults and clear fault
memory.
Check idle speed.
Component Test:
Bosch DME:
Twin-coil rotary actuator, 3-pin plug connection
Idling speed control valve click must be heard and felt while
switching on ignition.

Electrical Troubleshooting Manual 3 Series E36.
