New threaded spindle for the chain tensioner 11 4 220
M52
Situation:
Due to the limited space between the chain tensioner and the engine bracket on the M52 in
the Z3, the torque spanner cannot be positioned on the chain tensioner 11 4 220 with the
flexible extension 00 9 250.
Therefore, a shorter threaded spindle 11 4 223 has been developed. Replace the existing
threaded spindle, 115 mm long, in the chain tensioner 11 4 220 with this threaded
spindle. The new threaded spindle can be used for the engine M52 in all models.

Procedure:
The threaded spindle 11 4 223 will be supplied to every dealer via a campaign and is
available for reordering on a store basis.
