3 Series E36 M3 (S50) CONVER
Slacken remaining two bolts on chain wheel on VANOS
transmission approx. 2 turns, but do not remove.
Unscrew bolts 6 to 9 of VANOS control unit.
Important!
VANOS radial piston pump drive could fall into engine. For
this reason, drive must be held in position with a finger while
pulling off VANOS control unit.
Pull off VANOS control unit together with splined shaft.
Remove drive for VANOS radial piston pump.
