Replacing temperature sensor for coolant
(S50)
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
To illustrate locations for installation of temperature sensor
more clearly, intake air manifold is shown as removed.
S50 B30:
Unfasten plug connection (1). Unscrew and remove temperature
sensor.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 13 62 2AZ
Installation:
Check coolant level and, if necessary, top up coolant.
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
S50 B32:
Disconnect connector. Unscrew and remove temperature sensor.
Tightening torque,
refer to Technical Data 13 62 6AZ
Installation:
Replace sealing ring.
Check coolant level and, if necessary, top up coolant.
Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit, check faults in
memory, rectify faults and clear fault memory.
