Removing and installing the complete
exhaust system (roadster)
Disconnect connector for oxygen sensor.
Unclip wires in holder.
Unscrew exhaust pipes on manifold.
Installation:
Check seal, replacing if necessary.
Replace self-locking nuts.
Coat threads with copper paste CRC, refer to BMW Parts Service.
Unscrew exhaust pipe on transmission holder.
Installation:
Secure holder (free of tension) following installation of complete
exhaust system.
Loosen the exhaust bracket at the rear axle carrier. Remove
rubber ring.
Installation:
Only after the installation of the exhaust system is complete, align
by pushing and tighten down the exhaust bracket.
