3 Series E36 Z3 (M54) ROADST
Release starter motor screw (2) from upper vehicle side of
transmission.
Tightening torque, 12 41 1AZ.
Starter motor screw (1) is accessible from lower vehicle side.
Working from transmission output end, release starter motor
screw (1) with a long extension and a universal joint.
Tightening torque, 12 41 1AZ.
Lift out starter motor.
Installation:
Check starter motor pinion and ring gear for damage.
RA Removing and installing/replacing starter motor (Z3 / M54)
