Failure or continuous operation of electric fan

Complaint:
1.
The electric fan (suction fan or pressure fan) fails.
2.
The electric fan (suction fan or pressure fan) runs on for longer than the maximum
permissible run-on time of 12 minutes when the engine is switched off.
Cause:
Faulty clock regulator in the electric fan.
Affected
vehicles:
E46
Manufacturing period: start of series production to April 1999.
Procedure:
In case of customer complaint, perform diagnosis with DIS or MoDiC. When doing this,
work through the individual test modules.
If the electric fan is faulty, replace it.
