Replacing all valve springs (M43 / M43TU)
(cylinder head removed)
Preliminary tasks are described in disassembly and assembly of
cylinder head,
refer to 11 12 503.
Remove camshaft,
refer to 11 31 501.
Caution!
Valve supports on special tool 11 0 180 have different
brackets.
Align spark-plug recesses in valve supports so that they face
forwards.
Insert special tool 11 0 180 from below in special
tool 11 1 065 and secure with special tool 11 1 045.
Note:
New valve spring as of 9/97!
With the new valve spring, use special tool 11 0 345
instead of special tool 11 0 341.
Align special tool 11 0 341 in direction of valve shaft and select
appropriate groove in special tool 11 0 342.
