3 Series E46 316i (M43TU) SAL
Note:
If a reinforcement plate (1) was fitted on the left side of the car, it
must be reinstalled and both support bearings also sealed with
butylene tape (2).
Replacement:
Remove support bearing.
Remove or detach plate (1), spacer, auxiliary damper (2) and
protective tube (3) from shock absorber (4).
Installation:
Check auxiliary damper (2) and protective tube (3) for damage,
replace if necessary.
After installation:
•
Check that output shaft is correctly seated in rear differential.
