Valvetronic control unit: output stage fault

Complaint:
Fault code entry DME-2860 in DME control unit: output stage fault
Type of fault: no signal or value / short circuit in engine wiring
The Valvetronic output stage fault can intermittently cause the "Check Engine" lamp to light
up in conjunction with a loss of power. Restarting the engine will rectify this problem. The
above fault entry remains in the DME control unit without the "Check Engine" lamp lighting
up.

In case of customer complaint, a modified Valvetronic control unit with part number
11 37 7 516 809 should be installed.
