Removing and installing/replacing starter
motor (N42, N40, N46, N45)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Switch off ignition
•
Disconnect battery
•
Remove intake air manifold
Release nuts (2) and remove leads.
Tightening torque, 12 41 4AZ
.
Release screws on starter motor mounting.
Tightening torque, 12 41 1AZ
.
Withdraw starter motor (1) from transmission mounting flange.
Installation:
Check starter pinion for damage.
Check starter crown wheel for damage.
