3 Series E46 318i (M43TU) SAL
Pull dust guard out of the special tool bore.
Hold crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300.
Caution!
Remove special tool 11 2 300 before switching on the
engine.
If necessary, check assignment of balancing shafts to crankshaft:
Secure crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300.
The centering bores on the balancing shafts point downwards in
the cylinder axis to the markings on the special tool 11 6 270.
The balancing shafts are correctly assigned to the crankshaft
when the special tool 11 6 270 can slide over the balancing
shafts.
Caution!
Balancing shaft housing weighs approx. 8 kg.
Release bolts in sequence 6 ... 1.
Remove balancing shaft housing and spacer rings.
