Complaint:
The charge indicator lamp lights up after the engine has been started.
Affected vehicles: E46/5 N42
Manufacturing period: start of series production until 28 May 2001
Cause:
Connector on alternator is not correctly engaged.
Action:
Check catch mechanism of connector.
If necessary release plug connection and reconnect (audible click).
It is not necessary to replace parts in this case.
Note:
The plug connection has been checked on all vehicles in series production since
28 May 2001.
