Unscrew plug (1) so that adapter for dial gauge can be fitted.

The dial gauge tip measures on a ramp of a curve contour and
thus responds extremely accurate to the change in the crankshaft
setting.

The gauge tip contour and the curve contour are matched to each
other; only the recommended special tool may be used! 

Using a different or damaged gauge tip will result in incorrect
injection pump settings!

Caution!

Check gauge tip of special tool before inserting in injection
pump.

The gauge tip (2) of the special tool 13 5 200 must be clean
and without burrs so as to prevent damage to the injection
pump and distortion of the measurement result.

Measuring tip of special tool 13 5 200. Measurement "X"

corresponds to setting value stamped on injection pump.

Mount dial gauge:

Install special tool 13 5 200.

Secure special tool 00 2 510 (dial gauge) under preload.

Rotate crankshaft 90

°

 against direction of engine rotation.

Set dial gauge to zero
