3 Series E46 330d (M57) TOUR
Rotate camshafts until cam tips of inlet and exhaust camshafts of
1st cylinder point to each other.
Lift timing chain and hold under tension.
Align inlet camshaft and secure with special tools 11 6 321
and 11 6 322 in firing TDC position of first cylinder.
Place timing chain (2) on inlet sprocket wheel (3).
Push inlet sprocket wheel (3) onto inlet camshaft.
Insert Torx bolt (1), initially tighten and then slacken again by a
half turn.
Note:
The position of the sprocket wheel to the camshaft does not
influence the function in any way.
