Checking camshaft timing (M57)
Special tools required:
•
11 2 300
•
11 6 321
•
11 6 480
Switch off ignition.
Remove cylinder head cover.
Using special tool 11 6 480 , crank engine at vibration damper at
front in direction of engine rotation until first cylinder is in TDC
firing position.
Remove plug (1) from special tool bore.
Hold crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300 .
Caution!
Do not turn the engine back.
Special tool 11 2 300 must be removed before engine is
started.
