Removing and installing intake air manifold
(M57)

Note:

After removing the manifold, it is essential to seal the intake
passages on the cyliner head immediately.

Instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery,

refer to General Information MG 12.

Disconnect battery negative lead.

Caution!

If the charge air hoses are not fitted without grease and dry,
this will result in supercharger failure.

Fit charge air hoses without grease and dry.

Open cover (1).

Disconnect both battery positive leads.

Tightening Torque,

refer to Technical Data 12 51 4AZ.

Lay both battery positive leads to one side.

Remove heater bulkhead,

refer to 51 71 080.
