Removing and installing/replacing left or right
adapter (AWD)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

•

Remove underbody protection

•

Remove right heat shield from front axle carrier

Support front axle carrier with workshop jack.

Slacken left and right screws (1) a few turns.

Remove left and right screws (2).

Installation:

Check threads for damage; if necessary, repair with Helicoil thread
inserts.

First tighten down screw (1) - tapered connection paint-free.

Tightening torque 31 10 1AZ

 (bolt (1)).

Tightening torque 31 10 11AZ

 (bolt (2)).

Lower workshop jack.

Unfasten screws.

Remove adapter (1).

Installation:

Check threads for damage; if necessary, repair with Helicoil thread
inserts.

Tightening torque 31 10 10AZ
