Adjusting valve clearance (N45)
Special tools required:
•
11 3 160
•
11 4 400
If the measured valve clearance is outside the stipulated valve
clearance tolerance:
Important!
It is very easy for the adjustment plates to fall down.
Place a clean cloth underneath the valve to be adjusted.
Seal oil return and vent holes.
Seal opening to timing case cover at first cylinder.
Seal spark plug bores.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
•
Remove cylinder head.
•
Remove spark plugs.
With cams pointing upwards, measure valve clearance with
special tool 11 3 160 .
Note down measured values.
Compare measured valve clearance with prespecified valve
clearance.
