3 Series E91 320i (N43) TOUR
Remove chain tensioner (1) .
Insert special tool 11 9 340 in cylinder head and bring adjusting
screw by hand on clamping rail into contact but do not pretension
timing chain yet.
Note:
Picture shows N46T.
Align locating bores of sensor gears to alignment pins on special
tool 11 8 711 and secure in position.
Bolt special tool 11 8 711 to cylinder head with special tool
11 8 712 .
Installation:
Release bolts (1 and 2) of inlet and exhaust adjustment units.
Install new bolts (1 and 2) of inlet and exhaust adjustment units
and then tighten initially without play.
Slacken bolt (1) of exhaust adjustment unit by a half turn.
Slacken bolt (2) of inlet adjustment unit by a half turn.
