Check due for CNG bottle
E34 / 518 g
Situation:
The deadline for the regular check of the CNG bottle (CNG = Compressed Natural Gas)
is every five years for the 518g (for due date, see sticker on fuel filler flap). Refuelling is no
longer permissible after this deadline has expired. The check can only be performed at
special facilities with the CNG bottle removed.
Affected vehicles:
E34/518g
Manufacturing period: start of series production until end of series production
Action
When due, replace the CNG bottle with an exchange CNG bottle and return the used CNG
bottle (please refer to "Procedure").
Procedure:
1.
For how to remove and install / replace the CNG bottle with frame,
please refer to Repair Instructions 13 83 000.
Important:
•
Hazard class: UN1971 Compressed Natural Gas.
•
Relevant regulations concerning the transportation of hazardous materials
must be observed (ADR transport papers)!
•
The hazardous goods note and the label are proved with the exchange part.
These must be attached to the box used to return the used part.
Note:
•
Handle the removed bottle with care, it will be used again after the check!
•
The CNG bottle must be exchanged between three months before and three
months after the deadline for the check!
•
The used part must be returned without delay after the exchange bottle has
been received or else the price for a new part will be invoiced.
2.
Pack the removed CNG bottle in the packaging for the exchange bottle and send it to:
