Replacing Camshaft on BMW 5 Series E34 518g (M43) TOUR: Step-by-Step Guide
Remove dust cover from locating bore.
Secure crankshaft in TDC position with special tool 11 2 300.
Remove chain wheel.
Note:
The gear cover lid is not illustrated to give a better view.
Carefully and slowly push back tensioning rail at hexagon and
relieve strain on chain.
Remove sprocket wheel and chain from camshaft.
