Checking CNG system for leaks and correct
pressure (E34)
After every repair, perform a leak and/or pressure test of all
accessible screw connection points. This is by spraying the
screw connection points with leak tester spray (refer to
BMW Parts Service).
CNG system line routing (screw connection points)
(A) Filler connection
(B) High-pressure non-return valve
(C) Gas tank with retaining frame, gas leak sensor and stop cock
(D) High-pressure relief valve

Screw connections on filler line between filler connection and high-pressure non-return valve
(5/6)Screw connections on high pressure line between high-pressure non-return valve and gas tank
(7/8/9)
Screw connections on high pressure line between high-pressure non-return valve and high-pressure relief
valve
Inspection I : leak test of screw connections 3/4/5/7/8/9
Inspection II : leak test of screw connections 2/6
