Special case:

E34/M50 vehicles (without VANOS) may be fitted with a non-ratio control module from the
E36. In this case, fit the EPROM with part number 
12 14 1 740 661.
For this special case, too, the MoDiC indicates the correct part number for the EPROM.

Note:

The EPROMs are shipped together with a red seal in a packaging box specially for
electronic components.

In the event of loss and/or damage of the seal, a new EPROM with seal must be
ordered at your expense.
Only install EPROMs which have been obtained from the BMW Parts Sales
Department!

Material and labor costs incurred can be claimed through the usual warranty channels
subject to current warranty terms as follows:
