Determine the software version of the DDE control unit by means of DIS/MoDiC
diagnosis.
The software release of the DDE control unit must be:
Saloon:
From the start of series production up to 9/92
>= 5L7
Manufacturing period 9/92 up to
1/95 >= 5B4
Touring:
From the start of series production up to 9/92
>= 5M4
Manufacturing period 9/92 up to
1/95 > 5E4
If the software version of the DDE is not 5E4 or 5B4 (see Item X in figures 4a and 4b
below), install a DDE control unit of the latest version in addition to the scope of
components to be replaced in accordance with 2a.
