Rear window lifts

E34

Complaint: 

The window makes a noise or judders whilst closing when the rear window lift is operated. 

Cause: 

The plastic guide roller has broken. 

Affected
vehicles: 

E34

Procedure: 

The guide roller should be replaced using the repair option.  In the event of this complaint
arising, this method can be used to repair the window lift. The procedure to be followed is
described below: 

Tools required:
-

Right angle grinder

-

Compression rivet pliers for fitting blind rivetting nut

-

9.2 mm drill

-

Countersink 90

°

Parts: 

Guide roller repair kit 

Part no. 51 34 9 069 175

consisting of: 

-

Guide roller

-

Standard blind rivetting nut

-

Spring washer

-

Slotted countersunk head screw

(1) Roller
(2) Rivetting nut

(3) Spring washer
(4) Slotted screw
