Replacing main crankshaft bearing shell

Caution!
Note grinding stage of crankshaft,
refer to Technical Data
Installation:
When exchanging bearing shells (also exchange
crankshafts), classification of bearing shell allocation in the
crankcase is discontinued.
Only fit yellow bearing shells into the crankcase.
Note:
In series production, the thrust bearing is fitted only at housing
end.
If repair work is required, the thrust bearings are fitted at both
cover end and housing end (as for M21 engine).
The axial guide on the crankshaft is fitted to bearing point 6.
Insert pilot bearing shell in the engine block.
