Draining water separator in fuel filter (M51,
M41)
Insert hose on drain nipple (1) and direct into a suitable container.
Open drain plug (2) by turning it and drain fluid until pure diesel
fuel runs out.
When bleeding and venting the fuel filter, depress clips and
remove line (3).
Catch escaping fuel.
Switch on ignition and leave on for approx. 1 minute. During this
period, the fuel delivery pump is operated and the fuel filter is filled
with fuel and vented.
Check sealing ring on line (3) and replace if necessary. Refit line
(3). To simplify assembly operation, coat seals with acid-free
grease.
