5 Series E34 525td (M51) TOUR
Unfasten screws (1) and lift air filter housing slightly.
Install screws with screw retaining compound. Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 13 71 1AZ
Installation:
When assembling lower section of air filter housing, ensure
that sealing ring of crankcase vent is correctly located in valve
cover (2).
On engines with mass air flow sensor:
Raise lower section of air filter housing slightly and unfasten hose
clip. Remove lower section of air filter housing together with mass
air flow sensor.
Removing mass air flow sensor,
refer to 13 62 560
Installation:
Check sealing ring (1) for crankcase venting in lower section
of air filter housing (2) and replace if necessary. To facilitate
assembly, coat sealing ring (1) with acid-free grease.
