5 Series E34 525td (M51) TOUR
Remove transmission.
Transmission identification on nameplate or adhesive label,
refer to BMW Parts Service.
Convert transportation lock (1).
Convert lever (2), retaining bracket (3) and cable holder for
oxygen sensors.
Tightening torque, 25 2.
Caution!
Automatic transmissions are filled with ATF when supplied.
Version with oil filler pipe:
Remove dummy plug from oil sump before installing oil filler pipe.
Catch escaping ATF in a clean container.
Pour in ATF using special tool 24 0 080 after installing
transmission.
Check ATF level.
