Replacing unfinished body shell

The unfinished body shell is fitted with the brackets, spacers, reinforcing and retaining components of the standard
basic model. This section does not apply to special versions.

Any models which deviate from the basic model, or which are equipped with special features start out with the

unfinished body shell of the basic model, are retrofitted with the relevant brackets, spacers, reinforcing and retaining
components for that special version.

After all welding work, seal all cavities affected with preserving agent (refer to BMW Parts Service).

Seal or bond all welded seams, cracks and folds with sealing compound (refer to BMW Parts Service).

Apply new coat of PVC undercoating (refer to BMW Parts Service).

Prime bare metal parts.
