Checking coolant expansion tank sealing cap
Situation:
A new adapter 17 0 007 is to be introduced to check the expansion tank sealing cap.
Please refer to enclosure 1.
This new adapter is necessary due to a design change to the sealing cap. The sealing cap
is no longer guaranteed to be leak-tight if the old adapter 17 0 006 is used for the check.
The old adapter 17 0 006 is to be scrapped immediately and replaced by the new adapter
17 0 007.
The tyre pressure gauge with lever connector is used to check the pressure of the sealing
cap.
Procedure:
The adapter 17 0 007 will be delivered to dealers as part of a campaign.
Please refer to Repair Instructions for 3 Series E36, 5 Series E39, 7 Series E38, job
item 17 00 009.
