Wheel bolt locks
BMW, MINI
Situation:
From 06/2006, the BMW Parts Department will stock as special equipment wheel bolts with
a new wheel bolt locking concept.
The master wrench set (order number 36 2 010) for BMW vehicles and
order number 36 2 020 for MINI vehicles) is needed for these wheel bolts to be tightened
and undone on the vehicle without the wheel bolt adapter,
see Enclosure 1.
BMW Parts Department is marketing these wheel bolts with wheel bolt lock in all markets.

The new wheel bolts have a special milled code so that can only be opened with the correct
adapter.
There are 20 different BMW codes and 20 different MINI codes.
Theft prevention:
With this product, it is extremely difficult to strike in a universal adapter or another
object to allow force to be exerted to undo the wheel bolt.
In addition, a freely rotating outer ring prevents force from being exerted from pliers
or similar.
Sales concept:
Dealers will be equipped with offer tools.
Subsequent orders:
For reasons of security, subsequent orders can only be placed by registering requirements
with the company McGard.
The security concept requested by the Parts Department stipulates this procedure.
