Set of protective covers
All models
Situation:
During maintenance and repair work in the engine compartment, the protective covers used
to date on the front side panel (fender) can no longer be used without restriction. In
particular on vehicles with an aluminium outer skin (Z8 and future model series), the
magnets will not adhere to the surface.
To ensure the best possible all-round protection against damage and contamination for
customer vehicles in this situation, new, non-magnetic sets of protective covers have been
developed.

Set of protective covers for the Z8
On the Z8, the cover is secured by means of velcro tabs and hooks. All-round
protection is guaranteed by an additional cover for the front of the vehicle. The
protective covers on the front side panel are padded at the top.

Universal set of protective covers for all model series, except Z8.
As further aluminium front side panels will be introduced in the future, the non-
magnetic universal set of protective covers has been developed.
This set can be used on all model series to date except the Z8.
As an introductory offer (limited until 30th September 2000), this set is available at a
special offer price.

Design of protective covers

Medium-grey artificial foam leather, twofold in the area of the upper side panel, in
part with additional foam padding.

Edges of protective covers bordered with artificial leather.
·
Additional valence plate for protection of the upper edges of the side panel
(fender).
·
BMW inscription / logo.

Non-scratch, non-magnetic securing by means of:

Velcro tabs for hood lid hinge

Coated hooks for body edges (Z8 set only)

Tabs with sewn-in "buttonholes" for stop pads (universal set only)
-
Tab with sewn-on beading for edges of metal panels (universal set only)
Procedure:
The sets of protective covers will be stocked as store tools and will only be delivered to
order.
