Replacing fuel filter (M51, M41)
Attach hose to drain nipple (1) and direct into a suitable container.
Open drain plug (2) by turning it and drain fuel.
Twist and unscrew fuel filter element.
Installation:
To bleed and vent the fuel filter, depress clips and remove line
(3).
Catch escaping fuel.
Switch on ignition and leave on for approx. 1 minute. During
this period, the fuel delivery pump is operated and the fuel
filter is filled with fuel and bled again.
Check sealing rings on line (3) and replace if necessary. Fit
line (3). For ease of assembly, coat sealing ring with acid-free
grease.
