5 Series E39 520i (M52TU) SAL
Determine radius of trim:
1.
Determine and mark out center of trim of rear side panel in
delivered state.
A = approx. 50 mm.
1/2 A = approx. 25 mm.
2.
Work in from body outer side (2) by measurement (B) and
mark out.
Measurement (B) = 7 mm.
3.
Point of intersection of 1/2 A and B produces point (1).
Point (1) is center point for subsequent drilling.
Position 7 mm dia. drill bit at point (1) and drill through rear side
panel.
Note:
Radius at edge of bore (2) must be retained.
Otherwise there is a risk that metal of the rear side panel will
begin breaking!
Extend trim in rear side wall (delivered state) up to edge of bore
hole (2).
3 = Body outer side
4 = Trim area
