5 Series E39 525d (M57) SAL
Release retaining bracket (1).
Remove microfilter housing cover (2).
Disconnect plug (3).
Press retaining spring (4) and pull microfilter housing upwards.
Move microfilter housing to left and remove upwards.
Slacken vent plug on auxiliary heater (if fitted).
Note:
When filling the cooling system, it is absolutely essential to
adhere to the following sequence:
1.
Slowly fill expansion tank with coolant.
2.
Top up expansion tank right to edge with coolant.
3.
Close vent plug on coolant pipe after bubble-free water
emerges.
4.
Close vent plug on auxiliary heater (if fitted).
Use only recommended coolant,
refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids MG17.
