"Check engine oil level" warning
E39 / M54 B25
Complaint:
The "Check engine oil level" warning lights up in the display.
Cause:
Installation of an incorrect encoding status in the Dingolfing factory.
Affected
vehicles:
E39 M54 B25
Manufacturing period: 30 June 2000 until 26 September 2000
Remedy:
In case of complaint, reprogram the LCM with the new encoding data.
Procedure:
The new encoding data status can be found on CD 24.0 - available from mid-December
2000.
When the CD has been correctly installed, the version number of the application is
"Encoding C24.0".
The LCM must be reprogrammed after the CD has been installed.
Recode LCM:
1.
Select 3 - Encoding LCM.
2.
Select 7 - Series E39.
3.
Select 1 - Recoding.
4.
Select 14 - LCM.
5.
LCM selected, selection correct? ("Yes").
6.
Start automatic encoding? ("Yes").
Proceed in accordance with operator prompts.
Reimbursement:
Material and labour costs incurred can be claimed through the usual warranty channels
subject to current warranty terms.
