5 Series E39 525i (M54) TOUR
Installation:
The lug (1) must lie in the recess of the wheel carrier hole.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 37 12 5AZ.
Support rear axle with workshop hoist.
Unscrew left and right screws(1) and lower rear axle approx. 40 ...
45 mm.
Caution!
Do not subject brake hoses to traction load!
Installation:
The rubber-coated detent plate (2) must be installed at the
rear in the driving direction.
Tightening Torque,
refer to Technical Data 33 33 3AZ.
Assemble special tool 33 4 140 with 33 4 148 / 149.
Note:
Mount special tool 33 4 149 in accordance with the diameter of
the rubber mount.

Unscrew feed handle (1). Mount extension piece (3) on special
tool 33 4 145 with new bolt (2) if necessary.
