Coolant hose for throttle valve preheating unit
E36, E38, E39 / M52
Situation:
In place of the fabric-reinforced coolant hose for the throttle valve preheating unit, an
unreinforced hose has been installed. The hose in question is illustrated in Figure 1 on
page 2, marked position 1, connecting the throttle body to the heating return pipe.
Effect:
The hose does not satisfy the requirements laid down for coolant hoses. Coolant loss
through the hose decomposing or bursting cannot be ruled out.

Check whether the correct coolant hose has been installed
(Fig. 1, position 1):
1st possibility: Check the part number
Correct part number: 13 54 1 703 945
Incorrect part number: 11 15 1 740 393
The part number is embossed in the hose (see Fig. 2).
